Mr. Snuffleupagus
I use to watch Sesame Street all the time when I was younger. In the past couple of years I've caught a couple of the newer episodes. I like to think of these timelines as BE (Before Elmo) and AE (After Elmo) since I watched Sesame Street before the scourge know as Elmo was introduced. My favorite Sesame Street character was Snuffy the Snuffleupagus. For those of you who don't know Snuffy is Big Bird's best friend. For 14 years the adults of Sesame Street didn't believe that Snuffy existed but on January 14th, 1985 he was finally seen by the adults.
In my internet travels I've discovered a darker side of Sesame Street. Apparently Snuffy was involved with a Sesame Street drug scandal since he is a suspected cocaine user. As well there have been allegations that Snuffy is a Elmo Molester. Apparently he is also a very angry malicious deity and will wipe out all non-believers. Possibly because of all the Anti-Snuffy propaganda that have been coming from the Pro-Elmo movement but mostly because people didn't believe him.
With that said and done which is your favorite Sesame Street Character?
Interesting Search Request
For the past couple of hours I've been trying to figure out what this search means and why they would end up here. Does someone have suspicions that his/her mother had a sex change and use to be a man, or maybe the person thinks that s/he was adopted and his current mother is not his biological mother. Or maybe s/he thinks that his mother was a different person before s/he was born. I really don't know. Not quite as disturbing as "naked mom cam" or "pictures of my mom naked" but just as confusing and highly entertaining to me.
Friday Five #5
1. What makes you homesick?
One thing that will make me homesick is when I go 'home' home (my parents place) for an extended period of time, such as Christmas break, have a good time with my friends and then have to leave. For the first couple of days I get really homesick. Now I get homesick when I move from one place to another and don't live with the same people. That makes me homesick because I miss the people I lived with. Sometimes I think I grow too attached to people.
2. Where is "home" for you? Is it where you are living now, or somewhere else (ie: Mom & Dad's house, particular state/city)?
For the five years I was at university I moved every 4 months, since I was in the co-op program (meaning I worked for 4 months and went to school for 4 months etc.) but only one of those places felt like a home because I kept on coming back to it after my 4 month work terms. Right now when I think of home I think of my parents place. I will probably always think of it as home until I buy my own place.
3. What makes it home for you? People? Things?
Mostly the people. I still have a bunch of friends who live where I grew up so it reminds me a my younger years.
4. Where is the furthest you've been from home, miles-wise?
The furthest I ever lived away from home (for an extended amount of time) would be Kingston, Ontario. About a four hour drive from my parents place, so around 400 to 500 kilometers (I'm doing it in metric...damn you imperialistic bastards!!!). The furthest I've been away from home would be Europe, more specifically Kleinmachnow (a tiny suburb of East Berlin). I don't know how many miles or kilometers away it is. All I know is I had to fly in a plane to get there and that is far enough for me.
5. What are your plans for this weekend?
More than likely doing nothing. I might go out and do some vinyl shopping on Saturday. Hit all of the thrift shops in the area and see if I can scrounge up some good deals. The rest of the weekend I will probably just chill. Maybe watch a couple of movies. Indecisive as usual.
