Gun Used to Kill Selena Destroyed

I'm in a very anti-humanity mood right now and the second to last paragraph in this article sickens me.

Attorneys representing memorabilia collectors had opposed the gun’s destruction, arguing it could fetch thousands of dollars.

Sometimes the human mind makes me sick. I don't know who would want to own the gun that killed an innocent singer. Really I don't know why anyone would want to own a gun period.

For those of you interested....

The picture of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jack Black that I linked to a couple of days ago was from the opening musical act at the MTV Music Awards. They were singing about how great movies were and how they had "people having sex" in them. That was the cue that prompted the picture :)

Movies

I must have a very very boring life. I've been watching a lot of movies lately. In the past week I've watched 6 movies including: Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Donnie Darko, Grosse Point Blank, Amelie, Chasing Amy and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Today I went out and bought the second season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer on DVD which has all 22 hour long episodes from Season 2 meaning hours of Buffy watching.

As for my weekend. It was good. I watched Amelie on Friday night with my housemate, his girlfriend and her cousin. Saturday was a lazy day. It was super warm outside so a fair amount of the day was spent inside trying to keep cool, which is difficult when your air conditioner isn't set up. Later that afternoon two friends of mine from Toronto, Kathleen and Kevin, came by (since they were staying the night). That night we watched Chasing Amy and most of Jay and Silent Bob. It wasn't a very late night since they had spent the day at graduation ceremonies so they were really tired.

The plans for Sunday were to do some bike store browsing and then head out to the Elora Gorge to do some hiking. We went down to McPhail's in Waterloo and ended up finding a bike for Kathleen that she liked and was reasonably priced so they bought it. Since they, the bike shop people, needed to check out the bike and tune it up we had an hour to waste so we went for a walk in Waterloo Park and looked at the llamas, piglets, peacocks etc. We even watched part of a cricket game, which I still am not completely sure about.

After picking up the bike it was getting kind of late so we decided that the Gorge would have to wait for another weekend. To end the weekend we went out for dinner at East Side Mario's and then they left to go back to Toronto.

Now I'm back at school working on my thesis. Yipee skipee!! Pbbhtttt!
