Another Weekend - Another Buck and Doe

Friday  •  12:48 PM  •  5 comments

I am heading home again this weekend. I have another buck and doe to attend plus Monday is Canada Day so it's a long weekend for us Canadians. I would have liked to go up to my cottage but that will have to wait until later in the summer.

So for those of you who are Canadian I say "Happy Canada Day" and play safe. For those of you who are not I will feel for you when you are working on Monday. :) I'm out of here.

Friday Five - June 28. 2002

A nice Friday Five for a fine Friday morning.

When was the last time you...

1. ...sent a handwritten letter?
I write handwritten letters all the time. Well actually I'm in a bit of a dry spell right now. I have a letter to reply to from a friend out in B.C. but I just haven't felt like sitting down and writing. Especially since I've been writing my thesis.

2. ...baked something from scratch or made something by hand?
Hmmm. The last thing I made from scratch would have been scalloped potatoes and would have been about a month or so ago. Unless you count sandwiches, then I make those almost every day.

3. ...camped in a tent?
That would have been years ago. I think it would have been in 1997. At least that is the last camping trip I remember going on but I'm not sure. You'd think that this would be something you wouldn't forget so easily.

4. ...volunteered your time to church, school, or community?
I've helped out at my University for something called Explorations (where 5 to 14 year olds come into the University and we show them what we do) plus I helped with Campus Day (where high school students who might apply to come to this University are shown what each faculty is all about).

5. ...helped a stranger?
I don't know. If I help someone I don't usually think of it after. I can't remember the last time I helped a stranger. Actually if I did help a pizza guy find the place he was trying to get to yesterday, and I helped a student find his TA (teaching assistant) earlier this morning. Nothing major but it was helping them :)
