Friday Five - Valentine's Day, 2003
I was dreading that the Friday Five this week would be all about valentine's day and then I would have to explain how pathetic I am and how I don't have a girlfriend to be with this day but now I don't :)
1. Explain why you started to journal/blog.
Before I was hyperlinkable I started chatting with Firda, Nita and Wari on something called the Quack-O-Matic (which is a neat little chat window created by Firda for her weblog). During these chat sessions they were most insistent that I should start up a weblog, but at the time I didn't really have time so I put it off. Eventually Wari and Nita offered to host me on subtlehints.net and Firda offered to create a weblog template (since my initial attempts were quite pathetic) and her we are. So basically I did it to appease people :)
2. Do people you interact with day to day or family members know about your journal/blog? Why or why not?
I have given the address to four or five offline friends and none of my family members know of this site. They could easily find it by googling my name since I appear to be the only online Troy D'Hondt (or maybe in the world). As for why more people don't know. I don't want too many people I know offline reading this. One reason would be that if they know everything that has happened in my life I won't have anything to talk about when I talk with them and number two is sometimes I feel like writing personal stuff that I don't want everyone to know about.
3. Do you have a theme for your journal/blog?
Ummm. Not really. Inane ramblings from someone whos mother was eaten by blue space goo?
4. What direction would you like to have your journal/blog go in over the next year?
Less talk, more rock? Or maybe updating with more interesting stories than the regular bland "had a bagel this morning, thinking about cutting my hair" type entries.
5. Pimp five of your favorite journals/blogs.
Since I pimp seventeen blogs on the right sidebar already I'll pick five that I read pretty well daily but haven't added to the list (in no particular order and excluding any big names such as Jish, David Fury and Zannah):
i) Krisalis
ii) Serialdeviant.org(y)
iii) My So Called Life
iv) In Flight
v) Digifox
