Illustration Friday - Flight

Monday  •  10:06 PM

Firda suggested that we try the Illustration Friday weekly meme together. So this is my version of this weeks suggestion "Flight" (click on the picture for the larger image). I guess it's kind of flight, maybe more like freefall than flight.

Oh and the character in it isn't really human though he also isn't an alien. All I know is he's aiming for that big red X.

Fitty

A meme to pass the time away. Taken from Neil.

If you care it's in the Extended Entry. You know. I think I do these things for myself more than I do it for anyone else. Kind of self investigation (a new phrase by me).

As I was doing this meme a lot of questions seemed familar - a couple of the questions are the same as this one I did half a year ago

1. What time did you get up this morning? I got up at 6:50 am this morning, only to find out that there was no way to get into work. So I started working at 7:30 this morning.

2. Diamonds or pearls? Ummm. Whatever :)

3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema? A Very Long Engagement, the new film from Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

4. What is your favourite TV show? Currently I don't have a favorite. Maybe the Amazing Race, but that ended last week, though the next season starts on March 1.

5. What did you have for breakfast? Apple danish. Mmmm Danish!

6. What is your middle name? Andre, after my grandfather.

7. What is your favorite cuisine? I have to say that I enjoy Firda's Indonesian cooking. After that we enjoy Vietnamese.

8. What foods do you dislike? Cucumbers, fish (that taste like fish - meaning ones that aren't white) etc. etc. Too much to list, though a couple of years ago the list would have been much longer.

9. What is your favourite crisp/chip flavour? Sour cream and onion.

10. What is your favourite CD at the moment? I don't really have a favorite CD at the moment. I've been making MP3 CDs for my car, usually a various artist CD.

11. What kind of vehicle do you drive? SYD the Kia Spectra5

12. Favourite sandwich? Don't really have a favorite. Changes from day to day.

13. What characteristics do you despise? People who can't take a joke, people who are ignorant (especially about the world they live in).

14. Favourite item of clothing? My Red Robot T-Shirt from ExplodingDog.com.

15. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go? New Zealand. For sure.

16. What colour is your bathroom? I think it's yellow. I'll have to check.

17. What colour pants are you wearing? I'm wearing shorts and they are beige/khaki coloured.

18. Where would you retire to? As I've said before. Somewhere where it is spring all year round would be just fine by me.

19. Favourite time of the day? Quitting time. I love my job but I love my free time more :)

20. What was your most memorable birthday? My 20th. It was half way through my first year of university and I came home for the holidays. My friends had kind of thrown together a little "surprise party" with the help of my parents. A small group of friends celebrating my birthday and also us surviving our first term of university together. How much better could it get?

21. Where were you born? Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.

22. What’s the last thing you ate? The danish mentioned in question 1.

23. If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Somedays I would be blue, but most days I would be Somber (which I think would be a different shade of blue, maybe bordering on green).

24. Favorite flower? Trillium. The provincial flower of Ontario. It's not super rare but you don't get to see many of them.

25. What fabric detergent do you use? Tide I believe.

26. Coke or Pepsi? Pepsi all the way, though I've cut pop out of my home life. I can only have it if we go out for dinner and even then I don't always have one. Unwanted and unneeded sugar.

27. Do you wish on stars? I have. Nothing ever came of it.

28. What is your shoe size? 9 or 9.5 in North American shoe sizes.

29. Do you have any pets? I don't currently have any. My parents have a dog (Buttons) and a cat (Molly). I've had many different pets in my lifetime; rabbits, hamsters, fish, dogs and cats.

30. Last person you talked to on the phone? My mom. She called last night and left a message. I forgot to call her back.

31. What did you want to be when you were little? Rockstar. Don't all little kids want to be a rockstar to get all the chicks? :)

32. What are you meant to be doing now? I'm on my lunch break.

33. What do you first notice about someone? Depends. There face if they are facing me, their back if they aren't :)

34. Siblings? Uno hermano. (One brother)

35. What was your favourite toy as a child? Probably Lego (like Neil). I had (and still have) boxes of the stuff.

36. Summer or winter? Tough one. Winter is nice because I don't feel guilty not going out (too cold). Summer is nice because you can go out and do stuff. I think Summer wins.

37. Hugs or Kisses? Both please!

38. Chocolate or vanilla? Double super chocolate fudge!!!!

39. Who is most likely to respond? Odd question. Ummm Jesus? Satan? The postman?

40. Who is least likely to respond? Jesus? Satan? The postman?

45. In how many cities have you lived? Six - Cambridge, Wilsonville, Waterloo, Bolton, Kingston and Napanee. All in Ontario.

46. Favourite movie of all time? Don't really have a favorite. Though Amelie and Dancer in the Dark come to mind.

47. Mountains or beach? I would probably go with mountains though I'd also have to go 2000 kilometers to get to them (at least mountains of respectable sizes).

48. The current friend you have known the longest? Hmmm. I'm friends with a bunch of guys I met in 1982 in Grade 2.

49. Full names of your potential kids? I'll think about it when the time comes.

50. Usual bedtime? Between 10 and 11 pm. It would be later if I didn't have to get up by 6:50.

THE END

Freezing Rain Day!!!

I awoke this morning to a world covered in several inches of ice. I guess it freezing rained for a large chunk of last night. I didn't know about this until Firda mentioned it, and then I got a phone call from my supervisor asking if I was planning on heading into the office. Apparently the powers that be shut down the whole school system in Stratford, which is much bigger than a snow day since on snow days only non-essential personnel are told to stay home.

So I'm working from home. I have enough work to do so it's not a day off. Though I do enjoy working from home. Plus getting to spend more time with Firda isn't a bad thing (even if I'm working).
