Dental Work

Like Dave I too had the pleasure of visiting my dentist for a round of "dental work" (a.k.a. mouth and teeth molestation).

A little dental history. I have horrible teeth. I've had way too many filings in my lifetime. I've also not had dental insurance in about 6 years. This means I visited the dentist for the first time since 2002 at the end of May. Why did I do this? Because a quarter of my upper left wisdom tooth chipped off. As well the tooth I had my route canal on (in 2000) seemed to be falling apart. So I went in, got checked out. Found out I had the get the wisdom tooth extracted (with plans to extract all four), had tooth decay or two teeth (beside each other) and would need to get a crown on the route canal tooth (which is one of the teeth with decay).

Today we handled the tooth decay and the first step for the crown. I was there for two hours. The freezing only wore off half an hour ago, and my jaw is kind of sore (likely from the freezing needles ripping into my muscle tissue). In two weeks I am getting the permanant crown, and two of my wisdom teeth pulled out.

Now I need to ask you guys something. Have you had your wisdom teeth pulled before and how was it? Were you put under, or did you just have freezing? From what it sounds like I'm only going to have freezing. The dentist is planning on it taking an hour. I hope it's not that bad. My route canal wasn't too bad and I trust my dentist.

Thanks. Now I'm going to rest :)
